Garry Jenkins is a best-selling author, screenwriter and journalist.
During a 35-year career Garry has written for publications from The Times and Esquire to Cosmopolitan and The Guardian. His books include The Beautiful Team, his acclaimed travelogue on Pele and the 1970 Brazilian football team and Colonel Cody & The Flying Cathedral, his biography of the first man to fly in the British Empire. As a ghost-writer and collaborator he has worked on a number of international, best-sellers, most notably, with James Bowen, the multi-million selling A Street Cat Named Bob and its sequels. He acted as a consultant on the popular 2016 movie based on the book and has written the screenplay for its sequel, A Christmas Gift from Bob, directed by Charles Martin-Smith and due for release at Christmas 2020. With Debbie Macdonald he also created and wrote the animated series Streetcat Bob, commissioned by Sky Kids in the UK and based on his children’s picture books My Name is Bob and Bob to the Rescue, written with James Bowen. His most recent collaboration is with Dean Nicholson on the best-selling Nala’s World.
